Numbers and links you can use without explaining yourself to anyone. Calls to these lines are free.
Any number you dial leaves a record in your phone's call log and, usually, on the phone bill. If that is a risk, 211 and 988 are general help lines and say far less about why you called than a domestic violence number does.
Opening a link leaves this site — it does not open a second tab, so nothing stays behind you. Details last checked 25 August 2026.
Kept on this device. It only changes which list you see. An account remembers it for you.

Legal Help & Injunctions
An injunction for protection (sometimes called a restraining order) is filed with the Clerk of Court. There is no filing fee for a domestic violence injunction, and the clerk's office will help you fill out the forms. You can file even if you have already left home.
