Your Document Bag
A grab bag of essential documents, gathered gradually
Assemble physical and digital copies of everything she'd need to restart, without anything looking out of place

Gather gradually — one or two at a time, so nothing looks missing at once
Driver's license or state ID, and passport if you have one
Social Security cards — yours and your children's
Birth certificates — yours and your children's
Any custody, divorce, or protective order paperwork that already exists
Lease or mortgage documents; car title and registration
Insurance cards — health and auto
Bank statements, account numbers, and a recent pay stub
A spare key — car, house, safe deposit box
The digital backup — this protects you even if the bag is found
Photograph every document with your phone
One at a time is fine. You can delete the photos from your phone after backing them up in the next step.
Send the photos to an email account he doesn't know about, or a cloud account created fresh
If the physical bag is ever discovered or lost, the digital copies mean you've lost nothing.
